AT CINEMA OR AT HOME

If you are really having a hard time thinking what the best is, going to the movies or watching a movie at home the next lines can help you. Maybe you are one of those people who prefer going to a cinema and enjoy a dark and crowded auditorium and can listen to the movie as if you were in there or maybe you prefer staying at the comfort of your home, where you do not have to make a line in order to buy the tickets, where you can choose whatever movie you want and the best of all you do not have to pay for it. 

The first difference is the kind of movies you can watch. In a cinema you have limited options to select, most of the times there are only six or seven movies to choose, of course they are the newest options and if you do not watch them that time, you have to wait until they are in a video club, moreover if you watch a movie at home, you can rent one and of course the number of options is huge, on television you have a limited number of options, but you can rent one and the problem is solved, so the best decision you can make is to watch the movie at home.
 
The second difference is quality. In the movies the sound quality is better than at home. A cinema has a complex system sound, intelligently placed to give the spectator a great experience, but I have to say that the image quality is not very good, most of the times the screen in a cinema is very dark. At home you have a great image quality and depending on your television it could be even better. The only point against watching a movie at home is the sound. Of course your television can not reach the volume in an auditorium but that is not so important so the best option is still home.
 
The last difference is the cost. Going to the movies can result expensive sometimes, because a single ticket can cost from 50.00 pesos, even 100.00 pesos if you decide to watch a 3-D movie. Besides if you want to buy some popcorn and some soda the cost considerably increases. On the other hand, if you watch a movie at home, of course it is for free. Television offers good movies or you can borrow one movie from your friends, even if you rent one it is cheaper. Regarding the cost, watching a movie at home is the best option.
 
As a conclusion, it can be said that watching a movie at home is better than going to the movies because it is cheaper, the quality is better and you can choose any movie you want. The important thing here is to have fun watching a good movie no matter where.

REVIEW "1973"

“No matter how hard you try, you´ll never get it”

“1973” is a movie within the documentary genre. It was directed by Antonino Isordia Llamazares who is famous for his movie “Los niños devoran lobos”. It won the JVC prize for best director and it was nominated for best picture and for best documentary in the “Arieles”. Filmed between 1994 and 2003, the movie tells the story of 3 people who were born in the same year: 1973.

Rodolfo a “Porro” tells us his story through the hard way in order to become the leader of “Porros”. Mafer a disturbed girl, marked by the death of her father when she was just a child, and finally, Alejandro a troubled guy who has a deep bitterness  against his family, that bitterness led him to commit a dangerous decision at the end of his story.

The movie is poor regarding to with the technical aspects. It is very slow at some parts, the director does not really say to the viewer in which point the stories are related. However, the movie is a good critical about the reality of the Mexican society, and anyone who likes harsh stories should watch this movie.

Together ot not

Nowadays, there are schools just for women and some just for boys. Also there are others in which men and women can study together. Most of these schools are private schools. Now women can study the same degrees that men study. But some specialists claim that the way a woman learns is different from the one that a man does.  So should there still be schools just for men and some just for women?

The ones that agree with the idea that should still be schools just for boys and some just for girls, point out that in women`s nature, there are some things that just women should learn. They say that cooking and manual activities are just for women. But it has been proven that these activities can be performed by both genders. It can be true that in women´s nature, there are some things that they could do better or worse than men. But also it is true that they can learn and do the same activities that men do.

The experts on the matter say that when men and women study all together, they can develop social skills. Women or men who are very shy can interact with the other gender and as the time pass by, they can be more talkative people. Also when both genders do team work at school, they can turn more tolerable with the others, since it is a way of listening to the feelings of the others. It is good for both, men and women, to work all together.

The relationships between men and women are very important. To experiment a sentimental relationship at an early age with someone from the other gender is good. But, if men and women are separated in different schools, how could they gain experience in relationships? So this is a good reason why women and men should study together. By having a boyfriend or girlfriend at school, when these young become adults, they can have more satisfactory and lasting relationships.

 Having said these, I think that it is better that only exist schools in which men and women are mixed. It has been said that, if both genders are together, they can develop social skills, also the fact that women can not do some things that men do is false. They can do and learn the same things man does, so that is not a reason to maintain schools just for girls. And finally they should study together because of the sentimental relationships. If they get along in that stage, they can have better relationships in the future. So it is time to say goodbye to the old schools just for one gender and say welcome to a mixed education.

NOSFERATU THE VAMPIRE

Have you ever felt identified with something, someone or somewhere? I think you have, and also I have. One of my best characters ever is Nosferatu. He is the main character of a German movie of the 20´s. The movie is actually called Nosferatu and thank to the dreadful vampire Nosferatu; it has become a classic film within the horror gothic pictures. Nosferatu was the first adaptation of the book “Dracula” from Bram Stocker. Only that for copyright stuff the director of the film had to change some things about Nosferatu. The main aspects I like about Nosferatu, the Vampire, are his appearance, personality and also what he makes me feel.

 When you watch Nosferatu the movie, the first thing that catches your attention is the appearance of the vampire. He has big ears, a nose that can get the first prize in any carrot contest, long-thin fingers, and of course deadly and sharp canine teeth. He has no hair and something very interesting is his eyes. He has a deeper and even a sad look. He has dark circles under his eyes, maybe because he sleeps in a dark coffin. He is not so tall. A fantastic thing I liked about him is the fact, that he can change his form. He can turn into almost any animal. The appearance of Nosferatu is really astonishing.

Besides, there is another amazing aspect for me; it is the personality of Nosferatu. I think he is a refined person, since he belonged to an important dynasty of warriors. Also he is a person who hides what he really feels. He tries to be a horrible monster and he is, but, the circumstances have put him where he is. He is very shy because he does not know another vampire, and he has lived alone for a long time. He is not so awful for me.

On the other hand, what Nosferatu makes me feel? Well, for almost any person that has watched the movie, they will say something like – He makes me feel fear, horror, disgust- but for me absolutely not. Instead, he makes me feel sad. Because I think in Nosferatu condemned to a life of suffering. He has to be like a leech, sucking the blood of a human being, in order to survive. He also makes me feel sad because he has to live alone in that abandoned and gloomy castle. I always get sad when I watch the movie.

As a conclusion, I can say that due to the appearance, personality and what Nosferatu makes me feel, he is one of my best characters ever. Many monsters have been created through the time: Frankenstein, Freddy Krueger, Jason, Mike Meyers, Jason, Cesare, but no one like Nosferatu. He is very original. He was the first vampire in a movie, and for me he is the only one. Many copies of him have been presented in other movies, but Nosferatu was the first one and for me and for a lot of people around the world, he will always be. 

MY EVOLUTION IN ELECTRONIC LITERACY (CORRECTED)

In the world that we live today, the use of electronic tools is really necessary. With the internet the world is always well informed. Our society is actually called “The information society” so, in order to go to the speed the world goes we need to be electronic literate.  Nowadays electronic literacy means being able to use and create electronic tools such as: Blogs, e-mail accounts, search engines, online shopping etc. The use of these tools has benefits in the real life, it is for that reason that I had the need to learn how to use them.

I started using electronic tools when I was a young boy, I remember that I did not have a computer at home, besides that, the school was not helpful at all, so I used to go to a public internet with a friend of mine and he taught me the basic principles of a computer, how to use “word and power point”, how to create a e-mail account and how to download music. Over time my parents gave me a computer, and I learned some other functions that a computer has. I also learned how to install programs in the computer, play videogames and download videos from YouTube. I think that in these times, it is very important to master the main tools of a computer in order to go ahead with more advanced electronic tools.

The next point is if the electronic tools have influenced and improve my second language. I think that of course they certainly have. Most of the music I listen to, is written and sung in English so since I was in high school I wanted to know what the songs meant in Spanish, so I spent much time looking on the web for the song lyrics I like, then I translated them into Spanish by using some online dictionaries, I also watched some online American movies, so I had to pay attention in order to be able of understand the movie. That is one way of how electronic tools have improved my second language in this case English.

The last point to discuss is my expectations and plans regarding electronic tools. First of all I expect that in Mexico the number of homes that have a computer increases soon, as well as the number of houses that have internet. If this country wants to become a good country in matter of education, the population must be electronic literate. Regarding to my plans with the electronic tools, I think that when I am a teacher, I am going to use the web to help me with my daily job. The future is on the web so we have to make and effort to improve our skills in electronic tools.

As a conclusion I think that electronic tools are important part of our society, since with these tools we can talk with people of other countries at any moment, send and receive news instantaneously, with a blog we can express what we feel or think about everything, either education, or politics, or religion, also with the social networks we can get along with our friends or some other people around the world. So, the electronic tools are necessary to give people a sense of belonging.

Essay who am I ?

Hello¡ My name is Adrian, I was born in Aguascalientes, I am 19 years old and I am student of English in the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes but all that is just my general profile but do you know who my family is? In which schools have I studied? And which are my hobbies? Probably you do not know all these things but in the next lines you will know it.


First the most important thing in my life is my family. I live with my parents and with my brother, my mom´s name is Imelda, my dad´s name is Juan and my brother´s name is Juan as dad. I have a good relation with my family. I know that they will always be for me. That is my family and I am happy to have one like that.

Another thing you do not know about me is in which school I have studied. My studies started in kinder garden, then I went to elementary school, its name is José Guadalupe Posada as the famous painter. Then I went to the secondary school and then I went to high school, those were happy times and now I study English language teaching in the UAA.

The last thing you don know about me is: Which my hobbies are? I think that everybody has a hobby and I have mine too. One of the things I like to do the most is to read a good book while having a cup of coffee, to watch a movie I enjoy it too, also I like to play the guitar. Everything I do helps me to spend my free time I really love to practice these hobbies.

I have already told you about my profile, my studies, my family and my hobbies but I have not told you yet something more personal, so I have to tell you that sometimes I am a little bit serious, but when people get to know me I think I am a reliable person and I am always giving advice to people even if they don ask me to. I hope after this you can get to know me better.
